Between us we cover three Sundays in every month with Helen doing one of these. And just in case there’s any confusion – at our church we have men and women preaching and teaching. Twelve of us were running a team building course for one of the main Egyptian mobile phone operators. We were all anxious, this course was for the senior mangers including the CEO, God himself. The first part of the course involved the 120 strong group building eight ‘bridges’ on the hotel’s tennis court. Despite careful planning and meticulous communication, on arriving at the hotel we found that a large and unfriendly Ukrainian man had booked the tennis court for when we needed it.

A seat in the Gogs: being church in the north of Cymru 3

Over the past few days I preached in two very different churches: Carmel Baptist Church in Penysarn, Anglsey, and The Hope Centre/Pioneer church in Pensby, Wirral. Two churches representing two very different traditions. We had met him on a number of occasions in the south and were keen on having him visit the north.

As soon as he arrived at our home he was eager to share what he felt God had given him for us. The most exciting aspect of his word was his sense that the redemptive purpose of the island is ‘peace of mind’, that Anglesey is a place where people will come for emotional and mental healing. Against this, the enemy will bring attacks on people’s minds. Clinics for the mentally ill, retreat centres, and places of restoration for those in the middle of a life crisis should do well here since they would tie in with what’s in the land. The fact that on that same day a new centre for the ‘elderly mentally infirm’ in Llangefni was having its open day before officially opening to patients seemed to be a confirming sign.

Thank You! from Southampton

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all concerned for an amazing weekend. I brought a group of ladies from Southampton to the conference and everyone of us went home radically changed and challenged. I personally found God restoring me and confirming words that I had received before the conference. Particularly about being a Captain but behaving like a corporal. SO I have returned wearing my spiritual Captains hat and ready for battle and a download of strategy for the Church. Plus healing for my clicking knees and release from writers block!! Last night Helen and I attended a gathering for church leaders in the north jointly organised by Pete Leavers of Antioch, Colwyn Bay, and Dave Latham of City Church, Liverpool. Apparently, Dave has been gathering leaders in the city for some time and has been seeing some leaders travel in from north Wales to his meetings. He partnered with Pete to set up a similar gathering within the north itself. This was the first of what is intended to be a three-times-year-meeting.

Transition and Movement at Carriers

If possible, I think that the Carriers conference this year was even wilder than last year!! I came asking God for confirmation on a big life-changing decision I had made the previous month. Blimey did I get it!! The Carriers of the Fire Conference is being held at the Antioch Centre, Llanelli on Friday 2nd Oct to Sat 3rd Oct 2009.

Carriers is back in Wales for 2009 and we are looking forward to a significant time as we gather to nurture the movement of radical women that was released last year.

We hope you can join us too...
