A Seat in the Gogs: being church in the north of Cymru 2

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of hosting Michael Schiffmann, the German prophet, on the island. We had met him on a number of occasions in the south and were keen on having him visit the north.

As soon as he arrived at our home he was eager to share what he felt God had given him for us. The most exciting aspect of his word was his sense that the redemptive purpose of the island is ‘peace of mind’, that Anglesey is a place where people will come for emotional and mental healing. Against this, the enemy will bring attacks on people’s minds. Clinics for the mentally ill, retreat centres, and places of restoration for those in the middle of a life crisis should do well here since they would tie in with what’s in the land. The fact that on that same day a new centre for the ‘elderly mentally infirm’ in Llangefni was having its open day before officially opening to patients seemed to be a confirming sign.

Another aspect of Michael’s word for the island was the need to form stronger links with the mainland. This encouraged us a great deal because one of the main thoughts we had as we came here was that we needed to create strong contacts with others in the nation so as to link Anglesey with Cymru. Our contact with both  Antiochs, north and south, are an essential part of this work. He also believed that the links to Ireland need to be restored and that this should be done via the Isle of Man.

Two particular strongholds he felt were on the island were a spirit of poverty and of independence. Again this confirmed something we had sensed. He also felt that there were another three main strongholds, as yet unidentified.

Though some of what he shared we had already vaguely sensed ourselves, to have a strong prophetic input was great. His clarity of spiritual discernment is exciting to listen to. We benefited greatly from just having him in our home and have been inspired to press on with the things God has called us to do, especially in the whole area of exercising our spiritual authority.

The next task is to gather other leaders on the island to discern how to take some of these things forward. You can read more about our work and thoughts at http://blogdyfedwynroberts.blogspot.com/.
